When our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gave the directive that the Christian Science periodicals are to be kept abreast of the times, she opened the way of progress for these messengers of Truth for centuries to come. Today her wisdom is displayed in the progressive step being taken in the method of distributing The Christian Science Monitor to the world. Remote printing is to be carried out in London and in Los Angeles. Air delivery will carry the papers to Chicago and other Middle Western points in the United States.
By these up-to-date means, the Monitor will reach distant subscribers much more quickly than ever before, even those as far away as Australia and the Orient. And in the distributing centers, it will reach readers approximately on the day of publication.
This great step in progress should rouse in Christian Scientists a keener appreciation of the Monitor and a more penetrating evaluation of its mission to the world. It should inspire them to fulfill Mrs. Eddy's expectation that members of her Church would support the paper by subscribing for and reading it themselves and by obtaining subscriptions to it from others whose worldwide interests it will further. It is not too much to expect that the Monitor will enter the heart of every Christian Scientist and into every Christian Science home.
