ON GIVING A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LECTURE

From the October 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord" (Prov. 16:1).

Gratitude to God pours forth from the hearts of thousands the world over who have felt the power of the healing truth through the ministry of Christian Science. From such hearts wells a great desire for others to know this truth and experience its blessings of healing and freedom. Christian Science lectures are among the ways in which this desire finds fulfillment. Such a lecture is indeed "the answer of the tongue . . . from the Lord," the answer to the prayer of righteous desire.

In preparing for one of the two most momentous meals in history, Christ Jesus bade his disciples go to "a large upper room furnished and prepared" and "there make ready." This room, we are told in the fourteenth chapter of the Gospel of Mark, is the one in which Jesus was to keep the passover with his disciples.
