Early in my experience in Christian Science, I was healed of smoking, social drinking, stomach ulcers, and boils. Lost articles have been found, and wonderful business experiences have unfolded. It has been a progressive, spiritual unfoldment, each experience lessening the suggestion of fear and strengthening my faith in divine Love's omnipresence and omnipotence.
When I had a hemorrhage after a miscarriage, Mrs. Eddy's statement (Science and Health, p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive," was constantly in thought. I saw Life as eternal, not subject to change or matter, and before I was even aware of it, the condition had cleared. This was some years ago.
The healing of grief at the passing on of a son in an automobile accident was effected while I was serving as librarian in a Christian Science Reading Room. This healing brought a fuller realization of the eternality of man. The picture of accident was blotted out by my adherence to the rule of conduct, outlined in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, which reads (Art. XXV, Sect. 7): "No objectionable pictures shall be exhibited in the rooms where the Christian Science textbook is published or sold. No idle gossip, no slander, no mischief-making, no evil speaking shall be allowed."
