For many years I had been a medical nurse. As I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, dark images of disease were removed from thought, and the glorious light of the freedom of the sons of God replaced the false theological belief that God was testing me. I had been taught this from childhood.
I have been healed of organic dislocation, nervous breakdown, fainting spells, ivy poisoning, extreme fear, elongated palate, a dislocated vertebra, a broken shoulder blade, and chronic blood poisoning. So permeating was the truth, I did not know when the healings took place. I just lost track of sickness.
I had been reading the textbook for almost two years, but I had said nothing to my family about it. Thus when I became ill and was unconscious, my husband and mother called a doctor, and I was rushed to a hospital. When told I had passed on, my mother, although not a Scientist, replied, "I will not accept that while Christian Science is in the world."
