My heart overflows with gratitude for many wonderful healings through Christian Science; but the ones mentioned in this testimony seem to me to be outstanding and to be responsible for much spiritual growth.
Some years ago I had a bitter experience, and I seemed to suffer extremely from persecution. At length I cried out, like Job (19:8), "He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths." I thought I did not love Christian Science any more. Our revered Leader says in her book, Science and Health (p. 296), "Either here or hereafter, suffering or Science must destroy all illusions regarding life and mind, and regenerate material sense and self."
Long afterward I had an accident and sustained a back and head injury. It was believed that I would never completely recover from it. Finally I got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner and requested treatment with the result that I again felt a great love for Christian Science, and a wonderful improvement, in my physical condition was apparent.
