Christian Science came into our home as the result of my mother's prayer for a sound and happy way to bring up her children. Ever since I can remember, we have relied entirely on this Science in our family for the solution of all problems.
As a child I was healed very quickly of chicken pox and mumps. With the help of a practitioner, I was healed in one week of a severe wrist injury resulting from a fall from a horse. I saw clearly that in reality there had never been an accident and that consequently there could be no aftereffects.
An outstanding experience occurred when I had to take my final examinations at a university. It was the system of the university I attended to base the granting of a degree entirely on the results of two weeks of examinations covering the whole three years of study. This gave rise to much strain, tension, and last minute cramming. Although I felt that I had always relied on divine Mind previously at examination times, I realized that I had also always felt humanly well-prepared; whereas this time I had no idea whether I knew enough even to pass the examination, and I had accepted a teaching position in another country and enrolled for some necessary graduate work.
