THE ETERNAL NOW

[Original in German]

From the January 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Real being is eternal, perfect. That which is perfect is self-sustaining, therefore unlimited, infinite, and eternally harmonious. God is the everlasting "I AM THAT I AM" (Ex. 3: 14). To Him, there are no concepts of time whatsoever. Every temporal life, so called, begins and ends; hence belief in it has nothing to do with real being, with true Life.

On page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read: "Life is without beginning and without end. Eternity, not time, expresses the thought of Life, and time is no part of eternity. One ceases in proportion as the other is recognized."

Life is God, perfect being or consciousness, the only existing One, perfect in and of Himself. From this it follows that man, the idea of God, is included in the eternal now and has neither beginning nor end.
