In the King James Version of the Bible...

From the February 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the King James Version of the Bible is this glorious promise: "God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Rev. 21:4). God's promises are kept, and I am grateful to Him for Christian Science, which teaches that when we are obedient to His law, we are guided, guarded, and governed rightly. I am grateful for both moral and physical healing through the application of this Science.

My healing of an intestinal disease was published in the Journal in 1948 and has been permanent. Colds and coughs and other minor ailments have been quickly dealt with through the help of a practitioner.

I used to have a fear of enemy action until I heard an inspiring Scriptural selection at a Sunday service in a Christian Science church and started to study the Bible verses myself with the aid of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.  The selection was from the fourth chapter of the first Epistle of Peter and included these words (verse 14): "If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you."
