A number of years ago, I underwent surgery for a malignant tumor. For about four years I was in good health, and then the symptoms recurred. X rays showed another growth developing. The doctors warned my husband and me that I would be risking my life if I did not have it removed at once. This was done, and I was free for five years.
On both occasions a very dear friend had pointed out to me that surgery was not the answer. She had been a lifelong student of Christian Science and knew it could heal me. I smile as I remember my answer. I thanked her and said, "You have never been sick." This was true. I had known her many years and had never known her to be ill.
After five years, X rays showed another growth starting, and I was told I would always be subject to them. We were due to go to an island for a vacation; so I asked the doctor if it was safe for me to go. He assured me it was, but said I must see him upon our return.
