Through the door of Christian Science I walked into a whole new experience.
I had a happy childhood and was always a sincere student of the Bible and the teachings of an orthodox church. However, in spite of what appeared to be a satisfying profession and a happy life, I had many questions about God and man and life to which I could find no answers. Then one day after I was married, when I was in poor health and suffering from a state of depression, an acquaintance told me she had been in a similar state about six months previously but was now well. There was no doubt that she was well; she radiated health and joy. I was obtaining no relief whatever from the drugs and medical attention I was receiving. In fact, I seemed to be getting worse; so I asked her how she got well.
She told me she had been healed through the study of Christian Science. I had never heard of it. She invited me over to her home and spoke to me of Science every afternoon for about two weeks. At the end of that time I realized to my utter amazement that I was well. All I had done was listen to the truths she was telling me, truths she herself had only recently learned from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. This healing, for which I am very grateful, took place over five years ago and has been permanent.
