A BETTER BUSINESSMAN

From the September 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Love impels good works." This declaration is made by Mrs. Eddy on page 358 of her book "Miscellaneous Writings." In the degree that a businessman understands the spiritual facts which underlie this simple statement and thinks and acts in accord with them, he becomes a better businessman.

Christian Science, as well as the Bible, teaches that God is Love. Love, then, is the all intelligent, all powerful, always present divine Principle governing man and his activities. Also, Christian Science, as well as the Bible, reveals the real man to be God's image, His own reflection. Therefore, man is inseparable from divine Love.

Referring to this spiritual, changeless relationship between God and man, Christ Jesus asked, "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?" (John 14:10.) And he pointed to the practical significance of this relationship when he added, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." Jesus understood and relied upon this impelling, controlling Principle. It was this reliance that enabled him to utilize divine power to heal, reform, supply, and protect mankind.
