I could never adequately put into words my deep gratitude to God for the wonderful gift of Christian Science and especially for copies of the Christian Science periodicals which I took from a distribution box in a bus terminal and which led me to accept this inspiring religion. Since that time, my husband, my mother, and I have had the spiritual peace and joy that come with church membership, and the children have had the sustaining influence of the Christian Science Sunday School. We have had many opportunities to prove the supremacy and power of God in the healing of broken bones, sprains, burns, abscessed teeth, warts, and dispositional traits. Lack, fear, and other discordant conditions have been eliminated.
Many healings have been instantaneous, while others have demanded more patience and striving. Oftentimes we have had to retrace our footsteps until sin was dissolved and thought purified; but when we have been obedient to God's laws, healing and regeneration have been made evident in every instance.
I should like to share a healing that occurred very early in our study of Christian Science. Our son was four years old at the time, and a heavy object had fallen on his foot. A large knot had formed. Because it did not bother him at first, I paid no attention to it. But after a few weeks, it began to increase in size, and the child started walking on the side of the foot. Having learned in Science that God, good, is all, I tried to realize the unreality of imperfection; but the condition did not yield. In fact, the foot became swollen and inflamed.
