SUPPORTING THE UNIVERSAL WORK OF LOVE

From the April 1964 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"DIVINE LOVE always has met and always will meet every human need," writes Mrs. Eddy on page 494 of Science and Health. This statement indicates the way to heal every ill, whether physical or mental, individual or worldwide.

Perhaps many students of Christian Science have had the same experience as I. The first wonderful realization of the ever-presence and all-power of God's goodness was purely personal. Life could be beautiful —for me. It could also be beautiful for anyone who found the way, but that was each individual's responsibility.

Slowly, as my thought expanded and became more spiritual, a truer understanding of the meaning of divine Science unfolded. Mrs. Eddy also says (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 150): "God is universal; confined to no spot, defined by no dogma, appropriated by no sect. Not more to one than to all, is God demonstrable as divine Life, Truth, and Love; and His people are they that reflect Him—that reflect Love."
