IMPROVE YOUR TIME

From the January 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A wise person desires to make the best use of his time. It has often been said that if one wants something important done, he must ask a busy person to do it.

With the pressures, strain, and anxiety which pervade the modern way of living, it would appear that individuals are not accomplishing all they set out to do. Tight schedules in business, busy programs in schools and colleges, and the general pattern of work activity have made many feel that they are living in a world of extreme acceleration and that the pace has given little time for the things they so long to accomplish in life. There is certainly a Christian answer to this problem, one that can solve the situation in a most satisfactory way.

Christian Scientists are admonished by Mrs. Eddy to improve their time. In "Miscellaneous Writings" she says (p. 230), "Success in life depends upon persistent effort, upon the improvement of moments more than upon any other one thing." The student of Christian Science measures time according to his unfoldment of infinite good. He strives to improve every moment of the day by mentally disciplining his thinking. He learns to differentiate between the false claims of the carnal mind and the angel messages which come directly from God. These thoughts, pure and eternal, are the spiritual intuitions that come to help and heal.
