On page 209 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes, "Mind, supreme over all its formations and governing them all, is the central sun of its own systems of ideas, the life and light of all its own vast creation; and man is tributary to divine Mind."
It is wonderful to be learning in Christian Science that man, at one with and governed by God, is eternally and entirely perfect, divinely free. His thought is unlimited. His abilities, faculties, qualities, and talents are fully effective. He is maintained in unfluctuating completeness. He is healthy and holy, satisfied and secure. As one understandingly accepts these truths of man and denies the belief that man can be separated from God, he experiences security and joy and is confident that he will be rightly governed and cared for always.
There are not two realms, the spiritual and the material. There is not a material existence and a spiritual existence, a mortal self and a spiritual self. Man is not two, the son of an imperfect mortal, governed by an erring mortal mind, and the son of perfect God. The material self that one may seem to be is a mistaken concept; whereas the spiritual self is the true selfhood of every one of us. As one accepts this truth and applies it to himself, he is able to rise spiritually above physical sense, with its mistakes and regrets, and to express poise and fearlessness.
