It is with reverence I express gratitude for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, who, through demonstrating his oneness with God, overcame every obstacle and revealed the perfect man and for our Leader, who through her selfless devotion to Principle discovered the Science of Christianity and explained it in the Christian Science textbook for the redemption of mankind.
Prior to taking up the study of Christian Science, I was reared by Christian parents and through membership in an orthodox church gained a love for the Bible. The desire to help alleviate the sufferings of humanity was strong, and I entered the medical profession, graduating from a school of nursing in this country.
For some time I had been seeking an answer to prayer, and toward the completion of the training course a serious problem arose; the man to whom I was engaged to be married developed a painful nervous condition which material remedies failed to cure. At this juncture Christian Science was recommended to him, and together we attended a branch church for the first time and decided to read Science and Health in quest of healing. This came after some months of study.
