For some years The Mother Church has collected historical material on the growth of our movement in the Field. Chief among this is material from branch churches, societies, and college organizations. This Field Collection is used by Church offices in the course of their work; it is also called upon by memberships who, for historical or legal purposes, wish to review the early activities of their branch or organization. Preparation of these histories has often proved inspiring for compilers and memberships alike.

Those branches and organizations which have not yet sent in a historical sketch on their beginnings and growth are invited to do so now. Those which have sent one in should review it at least once every five years and should bring it up to date, if and as necessary. The branch clerk or an organization officer should date and sign the history.

The history should include as many of the following items as are available:
