Testimonies of Healing

In Hymn No. 3 in the Christian Science Hymnal...

From the November 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A grateful heart a garden is,
Where there is always room
For every lovely, Godlike grace
To come to perfect bloom.

In Hymn No. 3 in the Christian Science Hymnal we have the above words. Had I never received anything else from the teaching of Christian Science, I would always be grateful for an understanding of gratitude.

When I was a child, I had a serious bone disease which the doctors were unable to heal. In fact, they did not know what the malady was; but their verdict was that I would never be able to walk again. Christian Science was recommended to my mother, and a practitioner was called. I remember this practitioner sitting beside my bed, talking kindly to me and promising to call again. The next day as she was entering the driveway, a member of the family told me of her arrival. I jumped up from my bed and ran to meet her. Up until that time I had been unable to stand or walk for almost a year. In two treatments I was entirely well.
