There are so many aspects of Christian Science healing that it would take many pages indeed for me to cover those which have affected my life in the past several years. Through an increased understanding of God and man's true relationship to Him, I have been blessed with improved health, more harmonious family relationships, the return of lost articles, guidance in starting a new business and finding a new home, as well as protection from a raging forest fire.
During this forest fire, I was supported by a Christian Science practitioner in eliminating the great sense of fear caused by the flames. How uplifting it was to see the wind shift so that the fire could be brought under control minutes before attacking the homes and rangelands of our neighbors!
But the aspect of Christian Science healing for which I am perhaps most grateful is that which brought me to its teachings when I was indeed walking in "the valley of the shadow of death" (Ps. 23:4). During very active participation in our business and with three teen-age daughters and a home to care for, I collapsed at work one Saturday. The evidence was frightening to me and apparently also to the physician, who impressed upon me and my family that because of a serious heart condition I must be absolutely immobilized for several weeks, or the results could be very grave. This verdict was a blow to me; and as time went on and work piled up, I would disobey orders, do what work was needed, and then suffer a relapse.
