I am very grateful to God for the loving protection and guidance which have come to me in fulfillment of these words in Hymn No. 136 of the Christian Science Hymnal:
Thy presence ever goes with me
And Thou dost give me peace.
A few years ago, during a lovely summer afternoon, I was flying alone in a light airplane; I had only recently soloed, and the experience of flying alone was new to me. The weather conditions appeared to be perfect, but suddenly the airplane felt as if a huge hand had taken hold of it and was tossing it about like a blown leaf. I could exert only a minimal amount of control over the aircraft, barely enough to keep it in an upright position.
