Higher Education

From the February 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Education does not stop on graduation day. All human life is a time of learning and relearning. Today there is much need of continuing education because our rapidly developing technical society demands the constant updating of our knowledge and skills.

In every era the price of excellence has been hard work, and it is no different today. In every walk of life and at every period in history, the alert, dedicated, progressive individual has been a willing worker. Abraham Lincoln was raised in a humble environment with few educational advantages. Yet through unremitting labor and assiduous study he prepared himself for his great destiny. He never stopped learning, so he never stopped growing.

Christian Scientists, too, understand the need to stay abreast of the times and take whatever human footsteps are necessary to be well informed. They strive so to equip themselves that they may demonstrate excellence in their chosen professions and vocations.
