Principle, the Adorable God

From the February 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Eternal correctness—uninterrupted harmony of being. How wonderful it is to contemplate God's universe wherein everything is always correct, in perfect order, and there is only the consciousness of harmony! Since perfect God, the Principle, the Life, of the universe, is infinite, His universe is here and now, and each one can recognize his true being as perfect man existing in the universe of harmony.

Wonderful is the effect of realizing this. As one holds to the fact that in reality he is a spiritual idea in the universe governed by divine Principle, he understands more fully how existence is mental, not material, and much good comes into his life.

Mortals have trouble and they experience inharmony because their sense of the universe is the direct opposite of God's beautiful, harmonious creation. This disordered concept of the universe includes storms, disaster, war, accidents. To glimpse God's divinely mental universe is like coming out of darkness into light. There are no catastrophes, no evil forces in God's universe, the universe of Principle. Christ Jesus could dispel the storm because he realized the fact of the ever-presence of God's harmonious universe; he knew that divine Principle is operating everywhere.
