"How to gather"

From the May 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In her poem "Feed My Sheep,'" Mrs. Eddy prays:

Shepherd, show me how to go
O'er the hillside steep,
How to gather, how to sow,—
How to feed Thy sheepPoems, p. 14;

In our progress in the study of Christian Science there is need to gather the foundational truths of Christian Science from the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. We must, through our study, gain courage and understanding, as well as experience something of the healing of thought and body, before we begin to sow, or share, with others. A great part of the work the student of Christian Science does is the gathering process, and he needs to keep awake and alert to find new ways and interesting approaches to his study if he is to gather a rich reward.
