I would like to express in writing my deepest gratitude for all the blessings I have experienced in Christian Science.
Christian Science came to my family and me in 1949, when we found ourselves in difficult circumstances in East Germany. It came like a divine message when we most needed its healing teachings. I read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, like someone who had been thirsty for a long time and had then been led to a fresh spring. Through the loving efforts of a Christian Science practitioner I gained a clearer understanding of man created in God's image and likeness, who can therefore neither sin nor suffer. My first healing was that of jaundice, and I later learned that the illness was a result of false mental images I had regarded as true.
The church services we attended regularly from then on meant a great deal to us, and we learned to make practical application of this priceless teaching.
