EVEN THERE

Psalm 139

From the October 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Because Mind knows
man's every path,
his every way,
he cannot stray
beyond encompassed reach,
out of eternal day.

No flight to distant star,
no probe of depth at sea,
but what His love enfolds.
His outstretched hand, already there,
upholds.

What reassurance of His care
to silence doubt!
Wherever man is, Love's protecting arm
is round about.

Though faith may falter, courage fail
in shadowed night,
in outmost sea, on mountain's
awesome height,
man, the beloved son,
as close as prayer,
can know the Father's presence
even there.
