It is about forty years since I first became acquainted with Christian Science through the healing of my father. He was at that time suffering from a growth on one of his legs. A surgical operation was recommended, but the doctors were unable to give assurance that this would be completely successful. In fact, they predicted that worse things could follow. While my father waited in a state of anxiety and fear for arrangements to be made for an operation, he heard from a friend about Christian Science. My father attended church services and very soon asked for Christian Science treatment from a local practitioner. So effective was the treatment that within a few days the leg was completely healed.
Naturally, my wife and I as well as other members of the family were impressed, and each in his own way and at different times began to look into this religion, each eventually becoming a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist.
By simply reading the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, my wife found herself healed of an internal disorder for which she had been under medical care for over twelve months.
