I shall always be grateful that I attended...

From the July 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I shall always be grateful that I attended a Christian Science Sunday School from the age of eight, that I joined a branch church before I was seventeen, and that I had class instruction at twenty. These experiences taught me to rely on God, who is ever present and all-powerful, and were invaluable in bringing up a son and daughter who now have families of their own. They attended Sunday School from the age of two. Their father was also a student of Christian Science and we enjoyed a happy home life, all of us relying on God.

My daughter had an outstanding healing through mental surgery when she was six and a half. Her index finger was crushed so that it appeared to be cleft in two. Great fear was expressed in the neighborhood. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and in less than a half hour after the accident the child was eating raisins, completely free from pain. The following day she was playing in the ocean. Within a week the finger was back together, the wound completely healed, and a new nail was growing.

When my son was on the swimming team in high school, at the time of the big meet of the year (all the teams in the league taking part), the school and swimming team were depending on him to score the points necessary for the school to win the Iron Man trophy for sportsmanship for the year.
