For a long time I have wished to submit a testimony of the healing and regenerating effect of Christian Science. This religion was brought into my life through the healing of my mother when I was a small child. Physicians gave her only a very slight chance to live, even with an operation. When, as a last resort, she turned to Christian Science, she was healed in a very short time. Because of this healing our family became convinced of the truth of Christian Science, and each one was blessed thereafter by its ministrations.
My grandmother, who lived in the home and who had been a physician, expressed great joy and satisfaction in finding the answers to the questionings raised by the oppressive theological teachings of her early religious training. Later on my father was healed of a goiter he had had for some years. His was a purely intellectual interest in Christian Science, but a Christian Science practitioner who was helping him on a business matter was so perceptive of his need that through her metaphysical treatment his thought and character changed a great deal. All at once we realized that the goiter was no longer present.
During the period that my mother was seeking her healing, I attended a Christian Science service with her, and at my early age was so impressed that I knew of a certainty that this was my church home. I never returned to the Sunday School of another denomination I had been attending.
