From the age of nine I attended a Christian Science Sunday School and shall always be grateful to my many teachers for what I now realize was a very thorough grounding in the fundamental teachings of this Science.
For some years after leaving Sunday School, I applied Christian Science in a desultory fashion when confronted with personal problems or those connected with my job. However, after my marriage and the births of our three children the physical healings which I had long felt it was right to demonstrate began to take place. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 192), "Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power." I feel this expresses the change which has taken place in my thinking as I have learned to pray more earnestly for our children, as well as for myself.
My husband is not a student of Christian Science, but I am grateful for his tolerance, for his pleasure that I should attend church and take the children to Sunday School, and for the respect and admiration he feels for the lives of the Christian Scientists he has met.
