Testimonies of Healing

From the November 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Thanks to radical reliance on Truth, in the course of the last twenty years I have had several healings, including one in 1950 of staphylococcic eczema on my face, which was overcome in two weeks and has never reappeared, as well as severe stomach pains. In the family we have seen evidences of God's government in our affairs in instances of supply, of attainment in professional positions, and in the achievement of success in studies and school examinations. I feel profound gratitude for Mrs. Eddy for the discovery of Christian Science.

Thanks to this healing religion, I was able to conquer a great sense of grief caused by the death of our first child at birth. The aftereffects of a very difficult delivery seemed to make any further births impossible. We were living in Morocco at that time, and I asked for absent treatment from a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, who gave me treatments and unstinting and untiring love and support.

One day when I was overwhelmed with grief, I turned to God in prayer, asking Him to cause me to know the joys of maternal love. Then I opened the Bible at random, and my eyes rested on this passage from Isaiah (66:9): "Shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God." I was very moved by the direct and correlative answer to my request. Some months later I had an adorable little girl, whose birth was very harmonious. Five years later another little girl came, whose extremely rapid birth was equally painless.
