I have decided at last to submit a testimony for the periodical I love so much, The Herald of Christian Science.
Even when I was a child, the figure of a herald in stories, as a proclaimer of glad tidings or as a messenger who alerted people, seemed ideal to me. About forty years ago, with the words "God is Love," a Christian Scientist laid a small leaflet on Christian Science on my sickbed in the hospital, where I had been for two months. The doctors were agreed that I would never be a healthy woman. The thought that God is Love was like a call to awaken, and it freed me from abdominal suffering. I was released from the hospital at my own wish, and soon afterward I married.
After about six years of marriage I gave birth to a sturdy son. The birth was completely normal. I attended various lectures on Christian Science at that time, but it was only when our child was at a point of danger that we asked for help in Christian Science.
