My first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel in April, 1907. At that time I had been studying Christian Science about five years and had received healings for myself and children. Especially outstanding was the healing of the child as given in that testimony. During the many intervening years Christian Science has been put to the severest tests in the entire family. It has never failed when properly applied.
Three of my five children were born under Christian Science treatment. The circumstances connected with one birth were extremely critical. All five reached adulthood with no other physician, medicine, or counselor but Christian Science. When my son was very small, he was mauled by a burro which had a new offspring. The man who picked the child up and brought him home did not believe the child was alive. Ever)' medical law and material belief had to be nullified, as the condition seemed so desperate. With the help of a consecrated practitioner, who stood firm and fearless, the healing came without leaving any aftereffects. Our son grew to be a strong, healthy man.
When my first testimony was written, my husband had not yet accepted Christian Science, and it took him many years. He saw proof after proof of its healing efficacy, and finally when he did accept it, he was wholehearted in his dedication.
