I am very grateful for Christian Science, which has been my guiding light for nearly five years and has offered great growth and healing. The first time I read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of the need to wear glasses which I had worn for thirteen years for reading, writing, and all close work.
Christian Science taught me how to understand and perceive God and become conscious of His constant presence. It explains that all ills and evils are beliefs of error—not the truth of being. It taught me how to pray understanding and know God aright in order to realize the truth and be free. Before I learned the true nature of God through Christian Science, my experience was completely different, and I was dependent on others.
During five and a half years, except for a brief spell during which I improved and was able to sit outdoors in the country, I was bedridden, and my sole outings were by ambulance. I was stricken with a stream of severe sickness, including rheumatic fever, diabetes, and kidney infection, and became so debilitated that it seemed I would not survive or, if I did, would live a life of invalidism.
