Are You Sensitive to Spiritual Good?

From the September 1972 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When our daughter was on an extended European trip, we did not always know where she was. We felt a deep concern for her welfare. This awakened us to pray earnestly as we were taught to do in Christian Science.

As we acknowledged that the power of God, good, controls every detail of human experience, the apprehension that her life could be endangered was overcome. Through Science we established in our consciousness that as God's idea she was forever safe and secure. The belief that she could possibly be separated from Love's care and protection was challenged and destroyed. We continued to think of her as an idea of God governed by the spiritual law of being. We stopped worrying about her.

Later our daughter told us that while she was on the Aegean Sea a storm wave hit with such force that the ship came within three degrees of capsizing. The alarm to abandon ship was sounded, but soon afterward the crisis ceased, and abandoning ship was not necessary. An account of the near disaster was reported in the Greek newspapers. No one was harmed.
