Talks from the Periodicals Meeting FIVE PERIODICALS—THEIR ROLE IN HEALING THE WORLD Held in The Mother Church, June 6, 1972

The Seamless Garment: Five Periodicals

From the September 1972 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mary Baker Eddy gave us five periodicals. In a way, they represent the Christly garment, the complete idea of Life, Truth, and Love acting in human consciousness. And their mission can be expressed in Mrs. Eddy's words, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."Science and Health, p. 494;

Each issue of our periodicals comes to meet the human need, not just my human need, but every human need. If each of us here can see our place in divine Love's activity of meeting every human need, we will use all of the periodicals Mrs. Eddy gave us. We will be consciously involved in the Christly activity. Our own healing work will become more effective. It will multiply. It will draw others to the Christ.

We won't sit here and say that the world's need is met through Christian Science and it is up to the world to accept it. What we will say—each of us—is that divine Love, through Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy, has provided, is providing, the means through which the world's needs are being met. If I become conscious not only of periodicals coming to me each quarter, each month, each week, each day, but conscious of myself as directly involved in the mission of each one of these periodicals, I will find my place, my life, my health, my fulfillment, my joy. I will be one through whom mankind's needs are being met today.
