It is with great joy and gratitude that I submit the following testimony.
In October, 1969, I found I had the symptoms of yellow jaundice. My neighbors became alarmed, and as I had not retained any food for five days and had two young sons to protect, I went to the doctor. He diagnosed the condition as hepatitis, saying that there was no medical treatment for this, but advising me to rest.
I rejoiced all the way home that I had not been given any medical treatment and intended to call a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, but as I entered the house, the suggestion came to me, "You can't have Christian Science now; you've been to the doctor. You can't mix the two methods." I was filled with self-condemnation and guilt, and went to bed and remained there for several weeks. I was very ill and weak and in great despair.
