We have been greatly benefited by Christian Science. Our three daughters attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and many of their problems were worked out with the help they received from the Sunday School.
Once when I was going through a period of discordant relationships, I was brought almost to despair. Feeling that my understanding of Christian Science was so much greater than it had been twenty years earlier when we had had fine healings, I began to wonder why present conditions seemed unyielding. In this state of thinking I even questioned some of our earlier triumphs and wondered if they might not have come anyway, without the help of Christian Science. I berated myself for these doubts, but they were ever recurring.
One day the thought came to me that John the Baptist at the first sight of Jesus exclaimed, "Behold the Lamb of God" (John 1:29). Later on, John sent his disciples to ask Jesus, "Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?" (Luke 7:20.) I began to see that this doubting condition was not a thing that was peculiar to me. I prayed for the opportunity to prove to myself that I had a working understanding of Christian Science and to have it witnessed.
