The Reason for Existence

From the April 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Students of Christian Science have no doubt about why they exist. This Science has shown them that they are individual expressions of the one God. They are here for one purpose—to express the divine nature by reflecting the qualities and attributes of the divine Mind.

This Mind is Love, so it is in love for God and man that we best express our true identity and find the fulfillment and direction that make life meaningful and satisfying.

Christian Science completely rejects the existential negativity implicit in many forms of material philosophy. It asserts, and many of its students are proving, that through an understanding of the spiritual facts of being one can progressively master all evil and prove man's real identity to be the reflected image of divine Mind.
