Innumerable blessings have come to my wife and me since we both joined The Mother Church the year before we were married. After serving in The Mother Church for a few years, we joined a branch church and then had the rewarding experience of class instruction. This based us firmly on the rock of Christ, Truth, and inspired us to put Christian Science first in our occupations and daily lives. I am especially grateful for a growing appreciation of this statement by Mrs. Eddy on page 107 of Science and Health: "God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing."
Through the years Christian Science has met our every need: physical healings, a larger sense of home, satisfying employment, and a wonderful companionship. Much joy and many rewards have come from serving our branch church in various capacities.
Christian Science helped me find satisfying employment. The insurance company for which I was working was bought by a New York corporation, and I was given the choice of going to that city or being terminated. Because our lives were firmly centered around Christian Science in this area, we felt impelled to refuse the transfer. Then I took up a figurative fan to separate the fable that I was to become an unemployed mortal from the fact of my true identity as a spiritual idea of God, fully employed in reflecting His attributes.
