Recently, while I was on a trip, a printed travel guide reminded me of my obligation toward the world. I have to testify that in the last twenty-five years Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy has become my sure travel guide through life. Also through this "key" I have come to understand the Bible better than ever before. A fundamental change took place in my thought when this religion revealed to me that there are two contrasting accounts of creation in the Bible, in the book of Genesis. The first account depicts the reality of spiritual creation with God as the author of all good, while the second account is a presentation of the imperfect, mortal, and fleeting concept of life—a report of unreality.
I am very grateful that early in my married life my attention was drawn to this Science by my parents-in-law, whereby our family experienced many blessings.
When our son was three years old, he fell ill with a high fever, and the parish nurse diagnosed pneumonia. It was at this time that my husband and I decided to try the healing power of Christian Science. There was no telephone communication, and so my husband rode his bicycle to the nearest city to request treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. When he returned home, the child was healed. I had been the eyewitness to an instantaneous healing: within a very short time the fever and redness had left and our son, still lying in my arms, fell into a deep sleep.
