The All-God's Method of Healing

From the March 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Allness is at the same time inclusive and exclusive. The allness of God, or good— which is an accepted fact of Christian Science—implies that everything that exists in the universe is included in God and His idea, so all is good. It also insists that there is nothing existent in the universe that is not of God, so there is nothing that is not good.

This fact of God's allness, which is so important not only to Christian Scientists but to all the world, is more than a revelation of this present century. It is actually the cornerstone of the religious thought unfolded in the Bible. Though its full meaning was not then perceived, in both Testaments we find the theme repeated and demonstrated, often in situations that would humanly be considered dire. The book of Isaiah represents God as saying: "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God" Isa. 44:6; and "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me." 45:5;

Years later, Christ Jesus proved that prayer based on this fact of God's allness and supremacy is effective in healing as nothing else ever can be. And Christian Science brings out the full implications of Jesus' prayer and healing work. The last sentence of the Lord's Prayer, scientifically understood, excludes the possibility of evil existing in any form, even as a suggestion: "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever." Matt. 6:13;
