Do you know how many times Mrs. Eddy uses the word harmony in her writings? According to the Concordances to Science and Health and her other prose works, two hundred and seventy-one times, and this doesn't include allied words, such as harmonious and harmonize. Everyone can certainly benefit from pursuing the understanding of spiritual harmony and its realization in human affairs.
To anyone not familiar with the teachings of Christian Science, it may well seem that God allows or can even be held responsible for inharmonious thoughts and happenings. The wrathful, changeable God often pictured in Old Testament stories could indeed be supposed to initiate inharmony as a form of vengeance. Such a concept of God might easily account for one's not having much faith in, or love for, Him. At best, one could only hope to appease Him or hold His wrath in abeyance.
How wonderful it is to begin to grasp through this demonstrable Science that God, divine Spirit, does not include in His all-harmonious universe any such concepts as sin, disease, and death! How could He, when, according to Science, they simply can't exist in His all-inclusive, infinite, perfect creation? This true knowledge of God and His reflected, spiritual, real manifestation does not separate one from Him. I have healed myself instantaneously of a severe headache by realizing the metaphysical truth of this one sentence of Mrs. Eddy's: "Outside the material sense of things, all is harmony."Science and Health, p. 489;
