The State of the Union

The state of what union? The one formed by uniting states, societies, things? A trade or labor organization of workmen?

None of these. I'm talking about the union without a beginning. No one ever joined; yet every one of us is a member in good standing—whether we appear humanly as black, yellow, white, brown; capital, labor; liberal, conservative; atheist, agnostic, believer. None of us can drop out of membership or be kicked out.

Sound like a riddle? Actually my title alludes to the spiritual fact that God, being infinite and all-inclusive, forever includes His universal family of ideas, His sons and daughters. In Christian Science God and His reflection, man and the universe, are not the same but eternally coexist as one. Christ Jesus recognized man's sonship with God and declared, "I and my Father are one." John 10:30;
