An attainable goal

Helping to Heal Multitudes

From the March 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Members of The Mother Church are in the unique position of being able to set as an attainable goal the healing of multitudes. How? By accepting the privilege afforded them to contribute to the Christian Science periodicals. It is impossible to estimate the healing potential of just one prayerfully thought-out, divinely inspired article.

Neither education nor literary aplomb can necessarily lay the foundation for an article capable of healing multitudes, but right motives can. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way." Science and Health, p. 326;

A deep, sincere longing to bless and heal mankind is truly a right motive—blessed of the Father. It acts to release thought from the bonds of intellectualism or of limited education. It impels and unfolds the inspiration, spiritual perception, and patient persistence necessary. It lifts thought above the humanly intellectual into the atmosphere of the spiritually inspirational.
