Appropriating the Spiritual

From the April 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If the kingdom of heaven is at hand, as Christ Jesus said it is, why should anyone be troubled, impoverished, dissatisfied, sick, or in pain?

In fact, nobody should be and nobody need be. It is possible for even the most unhappy of mortals to claim and to take possession of the good that the Master assured us abounds in the heavenly universe, and to do this today.

The kingdom described by Christ Jesus is not a place on a map. It is the omnipresent spiritual realm of the divine Mind, or God, in which all His creations dwell in harmony, reflecting His perfect consciousness in goodness, and abundance greater than mortal thought can visualize.
