Whether we know it or not, the Science of Christ is changing the whole of human consciousness—including our own. The leaven of Spirit expressed in Christian Science is causing material belief to yield to spiritual understanding everywhere.
Where there is individual acceptance of the truth of being, there is peace, healing, and happy progress; and this enlightenment benefits all mankind. Where there is resistance to Truth, there may be ferment and agitation as Truth destroys error. The destruction of error is inevitable, for in reality all the action is with Truth and none with error. Because divine power is infinite, it's irresistible. Actually, one's interest in Christian Science is not just the result of personal choice. It's the outcome of the working of Truth and Love in individual thought. This leavening also causes us to pray, constitutes effective prayer, changes the basis of thought from matter to Spirit, and brings healing.
Christ Jesus said: "Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."Luke 13:20, 21; Wasn't the Master speaking of the omniaction of Truth and its transforming power on the human scene? With great love for the people he spoke in a way they could best understand, for in those days most households made their own bread—and with leaven. They were very familiar with the age-old process of leavening. In fact, yeasts (leaven) used in breadmaking have been found in Egyptian tombs of the eleventh dynasty, 2,000 B.C.
