Reading Aloud

Understanding Meaning

From the April 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How can you best determine the meaning when reading from the Bible or the writings of Mary Baker Eddy? How can you read aloud naturally, intelligently, and with inspiration? Prayer is always the first step. Then you might try some of the following:

King James Version: "Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."

The New English Bible: "Let us then keep to this way of thinking, those of us who are mature. If there is any point on which you think differently, this also God will make plain to you."
