Our Relation to the Master Christian

From the May 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It might be said that in a certain sense our relationship to Christ Jesus is twofold.

From the human standpoint, the relationship to the master Christian of each consecrated seeker of the truth is that of disciple, or student; of follower, or emulator. The Master said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31;

From the absolute or purely metaphysical standpoint, the relationship is already established in the bond of brotherhood in the divine family of ideas — the sons and daughters of God. The full discernment of this verity of spiritual brotherhood under the fatherhood and motherhood of God is one of the Christian Scientist's cherished objectives.
