[Original in French]
As a young woman my health had always been fragile. I had had no religious instruction but I did have a natural belief in divine aid and was of an obedient disposition. It was obedience to what seemed to be divine inspiration, when I was in London in 1909 trying to cope with seemingly insoluble difficulties connected with the sale of my father's business, that led me to Christian Science. Christian Science not only solved the business problem but healed me in three weeks of an increasing physical decline that had defied the efforts of French and English doctors.
About a year after my return to France one of my sisters became ill, and the physician who was called in happened to be one who had in the past treated me. He was very surprised to find me in perfect health. Acknowledging my restoration through Christian Science, he confessed quite simply that he could do nothing for my sister's case and recommended that she be treated in Christian Science. Her healing took place that night, without convalescence.
