I cannot imagine my life without Christian Science. An increasing understanding and ability to apply the teachings of this religion have resulted in many physical healings for me, including those of burns, colds, and bursitis. Human relationships have been made harmonious, and a multitude of everyday problems solved.
Active branch church membership has provided many opportunities for growth in spiritual understanding. Timidity and a dread of standing before others began to be healed with my first branch church appointment to usher. Through the years I have learned to turn to God more for confidence, striving to better express Him. Opportunities have opened up for me to serve as Sunday School teacher and superintendent, an officer on joint committees in my area, and to serve twice on the executive board and as clerk of my church.
A very joyful experience came when I helped on two occasions to organize charter flights from this area to Annual Meetings of The Mother Church. There I gained an expanded sense of the Christian Science movement as worldwide. I found that an improved—more spiritual—concept of Church could be part of my experience wherever I happened to be. My concept of Church and what it stands for is less localized.
